GAMEPLAY OVERVIEW
Merge Planets and Create Larger Bodies
In Planet Merge, your main objective is to combine matching celestial bodies while keeping the growing collection safely contained. When two matching planets meet, they merge into a larger body and change the available space on the board. Gravity takes effect after planets are launched, potentially creating additional collisions and chain reactions. Each new arrival can therefore affect both your immediate move and the opportunities available afterward.
There are ten celestial bodies to discover throughout Sputnik's journey. Progressing toward larger planets requires repeated successful combinations, gradually moving closer to the ultimate goal of reaching the Sun. Bigger bodies also occupy more space, making later decisions increasingly demanding. The challenge comes from continuing to merge while preventing the board from becoming too crowded.
Use Gravity and Placement Carefully
Where you launch each planet can influence what happens after it enters the bubble. Different placement angles affect how celestial bodies interact once gravity begins moving them. A carefully positioned drop may create a useful collision or prepare matching planets for a later combination. Poor placement, however, can occupy valuable space and make future merges harder to arrange.
The bubble boundary adds another important restriction to every move. Planets must remain safely inside because allowing one to escape immediately ends the run. As larger bodies begin filling the available area, maintaining enough room for new arrivals becomes more difficult. Balancing immediate combinations with available space is therefore central to keeping a run alive.
Chase Scores and Complete Achievements
Every attempt also provides an opportunity to push your score higher. Creating larger celestial bodies supports this score-chasing objective while moving Sputnik further through its cosmic progression. Since a single escaping planet ends the attempt, reaching higher records depends on maintaining control as the bubble becomes crowded. Each successful merge can simultaneously improve your progress and make the next placement more challenging.
Achievement goals provide additional objectives alongside pursuing a higher score. Meanwhile, the planets are presented as small living characters with smiles and expressive faces. Their playful appearance contrasts with the strategic pressure created by gravity and limited space. Together, merging, careful positioning, score chasing, and achievement goals give each new attempt a clear target to pursue.
