ABOUT SHADY CATS
Shady Cats is a colorful arcade platformer where you collect acorns while escaping dangerous shadows that repeat your previous movements. Every route you take can create a new threat, forcing you to think carefully about where to run and jump. Special collectibles introduce additional challenges, as fish increase your acorn rewards but attract bees, while fireflies temporarily remove pursuing shadows. You can play alone or share a keyboard with up to three friends, creating chaotic sessions where every cat must avoid its own shadow. The game also features five themed locations, unlockable cats, collectible medals, and power-up cards that provide different advantages. Crazy Mode adds an endless single-player challenge where shadows from earlier movements continue to threaten your survival. Gather acorns, outsmart your shadow, and keep your cat moving for the highest score!

Collect Acorns While Escaping Your Own Shadow
Shady Cats challenges you to navigate platforms and gather acorns without touching the shadow that follows your previous path. Every movement creates a trail that your shadow can repeat, making familiar routes increasingly dangerous. Returning through an area you recently crossed can put you directly in the path of your pursuing double. Contact with a shadow ends your run, so choosing safe routes and timing your jumps are essential for staying alive. In single-player Crazy Mode, the challenge continues through endless levels haunted by shadows from your earlier movements.
Use Special Collectibles and Power-Ups to Survive
Several interactive elements influence how you approach each level. Fish provide acorn collection bonuses and multipliers, but they also attract bees that introduce additional hazards. Fireflies offer temporary relief by eliminating shadows, creating an opportunity to escape dangerous situations or reach more collectibles. After completing levels, you can select power-up cards such as Shield, Vanish, and Magnet to gain different advantages. Deciding when to pursue valuable pickups and when to prioritize safety adds another layer of strategy to each run.
Explore Five Locations and Play With Friends
The game supports local multiplayer for up to four players sharing one keyboard, with each participant controlling a separate cat. Everyone must avoid their own shadow while navigating the same environment, allowing friends to cooperate on survival or compete for better scores. Five locations provide different settings for your adventures: Backyard, Living Room, Rooftops, Kitchen, and Fishing Pier. Progression also includes collecting 22 cats, earning 48 medals, and competing across five leaderboards featuring country flags. An optional short advertisement can provide a free gift of 50 to 100 coins.
