About Endless Escalation
Endless Escalation is a 2D strategy game centered on continuous base defense and long-term progression. The player begins with a single core structure placed on a grid-based battlefield and must survive increasingly aggressive enemy waves approaching from multiple directions.
The game runs in real time and is designed around endless escalation rather than fixed stages. Progress is persistent within each run, with the difficulty rising as enemy units grow stronger, faster, and more numerous. Endless Escalation is developed by GFX47.

Gameplay Overview
Core Gameplay Loop
In Endless Escalation, each session starts with a vulnerable base under constant threat. Enemies advance toward the core in waves, applying pressure from different angles. Defeated enemies generate resources that are used to upgrade the base, unlock new buildings, and produce combat units.
As the game progresses:
- Enemy formations increase in density and durability
- New enemy behaviors appear
- Upgrade costs scale upward
The loop revolves around surviving longer, generating more resources, and reinvesting them into stronger defenses and production chains.
Player Control & Movement
The player does not directly control individual units. Instead, interaction focuses on strategic placement and upgrade decisions:
- Selecting buildings and units from the UI
- Positioning structures within effective ranges
- Choosing upgrade paths that affect damage, health, firing patterns, and synergy
Visual indicators such as range circles, projectile paths, and unit formations help guide positioning and tactical choices during combat.

- Mouse Click – Select buildings, units, and upgrades
- Click / Drag – Place structures on the battlefield
- UI Buttons – Upgrade units, buildings, and base systems
- Menu (Esc) – Open settings or restart the current run
All interaction is menu- and cursor-based, consistent with idle and incremental strategy design.
Game Objective
The objective is to defend the central base for as long as possible while scaling power faster than the enemy escalation curve.
A run continues until the base is destroyed. Success is measured by:
- Survival time
- Total progression achieved
- Depth of upgrade paths unlocked
Each decision impacts how efficiently the player can respond to stronger enemy waves later in the run.
